I. Course introduction
1. Course orientation
"Critical thinking and methods", as a basic discipline to cultivate and train critical logic and analytical argumentation ability, has been widely praised and applied by the educational circles at home and abroad. Critical thinking guides students to look at the things around them and stimulates their innovation potential. Critical methods aim to put thinking into practice and apply different logical reasoning and analysis methods to complete the process of stating, questioning and demonstrating facts.
The bilingual course covers the basic concepts of critical thinking, theoretical development, reasoning methods and skills, critical reading and writing, creative thinking and innovative methods, and includes various forms of classroom discussion, group discussion, course work, etc., to train students to recognize and understand the logical relationship between arguments, find reasoning loopholes and propose solutions. Reflect on their own views and values, and develop critical reading and writing skills. As a course for the construction of Shanghai Curriculum Ideological and political Navigation Plan, in the course of teaching critical thinking and methods, following the principle of "moist things quietly", ideological and political education content is integrated into the teaching of critical thinking and methods-related knowledge, so as to cultivate professional talents with a sense of social mission and responsibility, correct values, professional ethics and innovative thinking.
2. Curriculum development
Critical Thinking and Methods was launched in 2018, with a total of more than 450 students. It focuses on organically integrating professional courses with ideological and political courses, and scientifically designing a course ideological and political system from various aspects of teaching, such as course objective design, syllabus revision, teaching plan courseware compilation, etc. In all aspects of teaching, such as classroom teaching, teaching seminars, homework papers and so on, the teaching quality and education quality have been improved together. For three consecutive years, the school has been awarded "Excellent" (A) by the supervisor, and the students have been praised. So far, it has been selected into the first batch of Shanghai Ideological and Political Navigation Course and Tongji University Online Ideological and Political Demonstration Course.
The teaching team promoted the critical Thinking and Methods course to students inside and outside the school through online live broadcasting, which was recommended by many teachers outside the school. The organic integrated course ideological and political teaching method has been applied to many colleges and universities in China, such as Southeast University, Chang 'an University, Xizang University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, etc., and has been well received by participating teachers and students inside and outside the school. It is widely believed that the multi-class style and the integration of critical thinking and innovative spirit have been deeply felt in the cross-school learning, which has helped students to improve their professional cognition. It has reference significance.
